With iPad 3 announcement just hours away, we talk about its impact on corporate network traffic, and whether companies that have formal Bring-Your-Own-Device (BYOD) programs will be able to handle the increased demand for bandwidth.
Brocade surveyed some 120 IT decision-makers and will soon release the full report. In the meantime, here’s what they share:
- Almost 40% of respondents indicated that employees use mobile devices to access their corporate networks regardless of an official BYOD policy.
- More than 30% of decision-makers expect traffic on their networks to increase as a direct result of the iPad 3.
- Meanwhile, almost 40% said they are making no additional investments in their networks to account for this traffic increase.
